My 6 year old's recent creations

s is always making stuff -all day long pretty much. she finds stuff and makes it into something else. she's always cutting, pasting, and asking for pieces of tape. here's some of her recent creations.

the strange cat above made me laugh. i particularly enjoy the skirt that goes all the way up the cat's tail. i also like that she cut the eyes out of something else and put it on here. and the dolphin in the middle is the finishing touch, isn't it?
s said if i didn't buy her a laptop (???) she would make one herself. most of her creations are two part as well. you can flip over the top paper from typing to a picture.

she made this blow fish in school. the part i like best is that if the fish sees a predator it lifts up the heart on top, and there is an eye that scares she predator away. i asked if her teacher told her to make it that way, but no, she said, it sounds like she thought of this herself.

what i like about doggie's flower hat is that sydney found my measuring tape and measured the right length to make it fit doggie's head right. smart girl! (i should follow her example and measure things instead of eye-balling it like i always do.)

s made this book yesterday after she discovered another loose tooth in her mouth. she made the entire thing unattended and on her own, with the exception of me cutting her papers straight and stapling at the end.

notice the money glued on.

"every book needs a title page," she said.

'while i was doing my school work at home (true story) my tooth was loose!!!'

'i brush every day' (notice her reflection in the bathroom mirror.)

'i went to bed. i asked when is my tooth coming out?' my mom said 'soon.'

'and i think about it right now.' lol! so cute!

'the end'

back cover: tooth in tooth fairy's basket.
her creations keep me really entertained. in fact right now she asked for a paper towel to make her dog a carpet that her "doggie walks on to get to his bed"- which she just made: a paper plate with some fabric glued on. she is so funny!
